The 10 piano sonatas by Alexander Scriabin (1872-1915). I'm honoured to be performing together with fellow artists, Konstantin Shamray, Mekhla Kumar and Stefan Ammer. Exploring Scriabin’s synaesthesia, this concert will be enhanced using video imagery of opals making this an immersive and transformative experience. Mystical, heady, erotic and colourful. Solo concert at the biennale Koper contemporary music festival April 2014 (Slovenia)
programm: Frederic Rzewski 'Winnsboro Cotton Mill Blues' Frederic Rzewski 'Rubinstein in Berlin' Sidney Corbett 'Grabmal Kundry'- in memoriam Hans- Werner Henze Snezana Nesic 'Study for the beginning of time' Ashley Hribar 'Paganini Variations' Pavel Merku 'Mood Song' for trombone and piano with Domen Jerasa (trb) 13.4.14 with musik21niedersachsen 'Ein Kinderspiel' and Sakura Variations by Helmut Lachenmann at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover is an improvisation on J. S. Bach's holy cross theme (in this case e,c,f,g#) and arabic sounding effects. In 2006 I travelled through Syria and was captivated by the arabic culture; not only unforgettable landscape and delicious food, but also warmth and friendliness of the people and the mixture of different religions. In Damascus, I saw a church and Mosque built next to each other and so in this piece, I was wanted to somehow unite the spiritual elements of these religions in music. This piece is dedicated to Dr. Bettina Engelke and visual artist Wolfgang Tiemann with whom I travelled. |
